Lincoln and University City are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Lincoln Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the University City Centurions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
Last Saturday, Lincoln made easy work of Temecula Valley and carried off a 67-47 win. The win was all the more spectacular given Lincoln's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while Temecula Valley is ranked 200th).
Meanwhile, University City didn't have too much trouble with Coronado at home on Tuesday as they won 70-52. The win made it back-to-back wins for University City.
Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 10-17. As for University City, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.
Lincoln came up short against University City in their previous meeting back in January, falling 62-53. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of University City's Dylan Griffin, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Now that Lincoln knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
