It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Forestview ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They snuck past the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets with a 73-69 win. With that victory, the Jaguars brought their scoring average up to 55.2 points per game.

Forestview found their leader in freshman Sa'Ryah McCorkle, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. Delainah Springs was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 15 boards.

When it comes to explaining why Bessemer City lost, don't look at Tionna Pettus. Despite the final result, she shot 4-for-5 from long range and dropped a double-double on 49 points and 12 rebounds. Pettus' evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalee Mitchell, who posted eight points and six assists.

The win made it two in a row for Forestview and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Bessemer City, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Forestview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-49 victory against Cuthbertson on the 4th. As for Bessemer City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-36 loss against Forestview on the 9th.
