The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 72-34 win over East Rowan at home. The win was just what Northwest Cabarrus needed coming off of a 78-35 defeat in their prior game.
It was another big night for Landon Rowe, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordan Gonder, who scored 13 points.
East Rowan's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Wembolua, who scored 12 points. The matchup was Wembolua's third in a row with at least ten points. Drake Jones was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Northwest Cabarrus has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for East Rowan, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest Cabarrus will take on Carson at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 461 points over their last six games. As for East Rowan, they will be playing at home against A.L. Brown at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A.L. Brown presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Rowan in North Carolina (A.L. Brown is ranked 268th, while East Rowan is ranked 549th).
