After a disappointing zero points in their last contest, Western Dubuque made sure to put some points up on the board against Marion on Friday. Western Dubuque made easy work of Marion and carried off a 62-28 win. Followers of Western Dubuque probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected five blowout victories.
Western Dubuque got off to a slow start in their game last week, but they had no such trouble against Marion as they cruised to a 35-point first half. Marion countered with 21 points, leaving the score at 35-21 going into the half. Western Dubuque put the matchup away in the third quarter with 20 points from the offense and seven points allowed from the defense.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Western Dubuque take on Maquoketa at 7:30 PM. Maquoketa also lit up the scoreboard in their last match, so this could be a high-scoring match. Marion will take on Xavier at home at 7:15 PM. Xavier have averaged 41 points over the course of their past eight games, so Marion might be in for a challenge.
