Despite the defeat, Lyons-Decatur Northeast had strong showings from Tavyanna Parker, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks, and Aubrey Andersen, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Wisner-Pilger's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stanton.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Nevaeh Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Emerson Bellar was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Wisner-Pilger, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Lyons-Decatur Northeast have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Wisner-Pilger struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast was dealt a bruising 69-26 loss at the hands of the Gators in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lyons-Decatur Northeast was down 47-18.
