The Legacy Christian Academy Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Bishop Union Broncos at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Legacy Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.9 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Legacy Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Kings Christian, taking the game 9-6.
The team relied heavily on Faith Ghilarducci, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Legacy Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kings Christian only posted an OBP of .360.
Meanwhile, Bishop Union had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bobcats as they made off with a 15-4 victory.
Bishop Union got a massive performance out of Cambrie Lanphear, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Lanphear a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Faye Spoonhunter, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double.
Legacy Christian Academy's record now sits at 7-10. As for Bishop Union, their record is now 11-7.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Legacy Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .492. However, it's not like Bishop Union struggles in that department as they've averaged .397. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
