The Wilson Area Warriors will square off against the Saucon Valley Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilson Area will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Wilson Area's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Catasauqua with a sharp 12-0 victory. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Shaun Danielson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wilson Area is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Danielson was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Ryan Bonham was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Wilson Area's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Deemer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Saucon Valley suffered their closest loss since May 7, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Notre Dame-Green Pond by a score of 6-4. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Cole Hubert made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Noah Hubert, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
The victory got Wilson Area back to even at 4-4. As for Saucon Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wilson Area has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Saucon Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Wilson Area skirted past Saucon Valley 3-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
