The Central Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Nature Coast Tech on Friday as Central made off with a 71-46 victory. Given Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Nature Coast Tech is ranked 417th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeroen "JD" Watson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Watson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. David Villarroel was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Central and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Nature Coast Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will be home for the holidays to greet Land O' Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jordan Massie and Ethan Bergantino. As for Nature Coast Tech, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
