Jaden Hall made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Wimberley let Bryson Anderson and Ty Thames run wild. Anderson scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Thames got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Thames has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maverick Jacobs, who scored four runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Wimberley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Fredericksburg suffered their biggest loss since March 12, 2024 on Friday. They lost 9-1 to Davenport. The Billies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wimberley pushed their record up to 12-3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Fredericksburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.
Everything went Wimberley's way against Fredericksburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Wimberley made off with a 19-3 win. Will the Texans repeat their success, or do the Billies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
