After a string of three wins, Coahulla Creek's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 72-59 to the Union County Panthers. If the Colts were looking for revenge after losing 78-58 to the Panthers when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Coahulla Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Waelyn Baliles, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Tyler Douglas was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Coahulla Creek's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Union County, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4.

Coahulla Creek and Union County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Colts will square off against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (227 vs. 18). Meanwhile, Union County (ranked 239th) will meet Murray County (ranked 42nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
