The Dobyns-Bennett Indians were the 63-40 winner over the Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Dobyns-Bennett fell 57-50 to Morristown-Hamblen East on Saturday.
It was another big night for Harmony Sullivan, who scored 22 points for Morristown-Hamblen East. The match was Sullivan's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ella Wampler, who scored 14 points.
Dobyns-Bennett's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dobyns-Bennett will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Elizabethton at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Morristown-Hamblen East's road trip will continue as they head out to face Science Hill at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Science Hill is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
