It was a good run, but The West Lincoln Rebels unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Lincolnton by a score of 19-17. West Lincoln was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lincolnton apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Jaylin Winnex and Gideon Allen certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Winnex rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown, while Allen rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Andre Bost, who rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Bost is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
West Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Lincolnton, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
West Lincoln will be playing at home against Chase at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Chase's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Lincolnton, they will head out on the road to face off against North Surry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Surry is on a three-game streak of home wins, Lincolnton a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
