The Wynot Blue Devils put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Mullen at home to the tune of 50-20. Considering Wynot has won six games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wynot to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Schroeder, who picked up 116 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Dylan Heine, who threw for 141 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.
Mullen's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Gracey, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 156 yards and a touchdown on only ten passes. Alex Werner was another key contributor, picking up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Wynot's win was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.5 points. As for Mullen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Wynot's homestand continues as they prepare to take on St. Francis at 5:00 p.m. on November 3rd. St. Francis has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 372 points over their last eight games. Mullen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
