The Gulf Breeze Dolphins posted their biggest victory since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pensacola Catholic 63-30 on the road. Given Gulf Breeze's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Pensacola Catholic is ranked 598th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Hutson Rowe, who scored 17 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tre Ennis, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Despite the defeat, Pensacola Catholic had strong showings from Solomon Sutton, who scored 11 points, and Terius Mason, who scored seven points.
Gulf Breeze is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Pensacola Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
Gulf Breeze and Pine Forest will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pensacola Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next game is against West Florida Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th.
