Mercy's William Gentry rumbled for the longest rushing play in California - South (8 Man) this season in his game against Princeton last week. Gentry ran for 60 yards on the play and finished with 87 on the day as his team fell to the Eagles.
Westwood lost to Greenville 66-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Cooper Kingdon threw for 182 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 5-9 with 0 interceptions.
Anthony Demague was a key player and the best on defense this week as Herlong lost to Loyalton. The 5-foot-10 junior nabbed 1 interception and recorded 1 fumble.
Alejandro Guerrero was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 113 yards on 13 carries as Mercy fell to the Grizzlies. Teammate Gentry added to the ground attack by rushing for 87 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Indians' Kingdon and Walker Meyers have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-9 quarterback Kingdon has thrown for 1,122 yards this season, while Meyers has 14 catches for 410 yards. Guerrero from Charlie Ford's team leads the league in rushing with 692 yards.
The top two teams in California - South (8 Man) will face off this week when first place Greenville takes on second place Princeton. Last week, Greenville bested the Lumberjacks, while Princeton defeated the Warriors.
Justin Allan's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 66 points on Westwood. Kingdon ran for 48 yards and caught 2 passes for 92 yards in the win.
