After flying high against the Oasis Sharks on Thursday, the Bonita Springs Bullsharks came back down to earth. Bonita Springs was outmatched by Estero at home and fell 57-30. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bonita Springs in their matchups with Estero: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Bonita Springs saw an underclassman step up: Kyleigh Weick scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Estero found their leader in underclassman Amiya Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Lewis has scored at least 25% of Estero's points. Another player making a difference was Rayne Woods, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Bonita Springs' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Estero, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonita Springs will take on Canterbury at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Canterbury will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Estero will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Naples at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th. Naples is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
