The Minto Lakers lost against the Walter Northway Warriors back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Minto took a serious blow against Walter Northway, falling 68-36. Minto has not had much luck with Walter Northway recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Jena Smith and Ruth Fox certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Smith scored 19 points, while Fox scored 15 points. The matchup was Smith's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Minto's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Walter Northway, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Minto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Walter Northway will head out on the road to face off against Susitna Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Susitna Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
