Moore Catholic entered their tilt with St. Joseph-by-the-Sea with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Moore Catholic simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat St. Joseph-by-the-Sea 36-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Moore Catholic, who have now won four games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Moore Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Richard Pacheco (RJ), who rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns. Pacheco (RJ) hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Thomas Zeh was another key contributor, throwing for 303 yards and two touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes.
Iona Prep fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. Everything went their way against Kellenberg Memorial on Saturday as Iona Prep made off with a 35-14 victory. With Iona Prep ahead 21-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Iona Prep can attribute much of their success to Crew Davis, who rushed for 50 yards and two touchdowns, and Joey Gaston, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Moore Catholic's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.8 points per game. As for Iona Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
