The Argos Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the West Central Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Argos is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Argos got the win against Oregon-Davis by a conclusive 17-5. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Ivy Stackhouse was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adelyn Lewark, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Maddie Overmeyer was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Argos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .698. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, West Central owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Knox. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
The result came thanks to Jalie Glasford's shutout, as she gave up just three hits.
On the hitting side, Brooklynn Lattimore was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
West Central pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Argos, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 7-8.
West Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Argos has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for West Central, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Argos keep running through batters, or will the Trojans buck the trend?
Argos might still be hurting after the 22-4 defeat they got from West Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
