4A District 5 recap September 17, 2013
Bruce Judson and Jamel Dean provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Astronaut. The connection went for 80 yards, the longest such play in 4A District 5 this season.
Space Coast moved up to 353 from 398 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Vipers climbed the ranks as a result of topping Celebration 48-7.
Space Coast's dynamic duo of Nick Rittenhouse and Devon Cannon proved tough for the Storm to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rittenhouse threw for 319 yards and 4 touchdowns and Cannon had 140 yards receiving. Chase Colantino helped Space Coast's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 80 yards.
Jake Owens' team's dynamic duo of Rittenhouse and Cannon proved to be unstoppable against Celebration, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Rittenhouse put up the best numbers in passing as the Vipers topped Dennis Thomas' team.
Cannon was the best receiver in the league this week as Space Coast defeated the Storm.
Lorrenzo Pratt was the best running back in 4A District 5 this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 94 yards as Cocoa topped Celebration. Dean also contributed to the rushing game with 14 yards on the ground.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Space Coast takes on Cocoa Beach. At the moment, the Vipers are in first, while the Minutemen are in fourth.
The Tigers were the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in the league. Cocoa defeated the War Eagles 14-7 earlier in the week.
