The Lapel Bulldogs will challenge the University Trailblazers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lapel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.7 runs per game this season.
Lapel was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Shenandoah on Monday. The Bulldogs blew past the Raiders 25-1. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Eli Suchocki made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lapel let Rylie Hudson and Camden Novak run wild. Hudson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI, while Novak got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave Hudson a new career-high. AJ Nunley was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lapel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shenandoah only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, University didn't have quite enough to beat Kokomo on Saturday and fell 6-5.
Like Lapel, University also got a great game from a two-way player: Cooper Cammack. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Cammack was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Griffin Wright was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
University's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Lapel, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Lapel has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. However, it's not like University struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lapel took their win against University when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-4 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trailblazers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
