Bryce Foster, the towering and burly 6-foot-5, 330-pound junior offensive lineman and track and field standout for
Katy Taylor (Katy, Texas), has been featured all over the internet the last few months for his dual-sport prowess.
Foster, nicknamed "The Mountain" after
Game of Thrones character Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane, is ranked the No. 69 recruit overall in the nation by 247Sports and No. 9 in Texas for the Class of 2021, although his future may be in the shot put and discus ring.
He ranked first in Texas in the shot (61 feet, 7 inches) and second in the discus (191-4) this season before the COVID-19 shutdown. He he told milesplit.com he has his eye on state records (215-2 in the discus) and eventually the Olympics.
He's also on the fast track for a big college football career — he has 22 offers including front-runners LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon and Texas A&M — and even the NFL.
Besides his giant frame, excellent feet and strength, his 4.93 speed in the 40-yard dash combined with recently bench pressing 225 pounds 26 times would have placed him in the top 12 offensive lineman at this year's NFL combine, according to Bleacher Report.
His ultimate dream, he said, is to be a high NFL draft pick and then represent USA in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
