The Dysart Demons came tearing into Monday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Coronado with points to spare, taking the game 74-55. Given Dysart's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Coronado is ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dysart's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nate Morales, who scored 21 points along with four steals. Morales is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zane Connelly, who scored 17 points along with five steals.
Dysart pushed their record up to 21-3 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Coronado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-12.
Dysart will be playing at home against Vista Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coronado, they will head out on the road to square off against Cortez at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Cortez's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 games.
