The Medora Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Cannelton 71-12 on the road. Medora has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Damian Salas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Jaxon Nugen was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Cannelton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Medora pulled down nine offensive rebounds.
Medora's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Cannelton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Medora won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Columbus Christian at 11:30 a.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Columbus Christian is ranked 406th, while Medora is ranked 416th). Cannelton will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Seven Oaks Classical at 9:45 a.m. on January 13th. Seven Oaks Classical comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
