The Atkins Camels will square off against the Dudley Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atkins is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Atkins made easy work of Ben L. Smith and carried off a 17-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Camels in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Aniston Pennington made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
In other batting news, Atkins let Emma Davis and Ava Fleming run wild. Davis scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Fleming scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Makenna Best was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Atkins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Dudley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against High Point Central, falling 21-4.
Trinedee Henderson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Tiana Caldwell also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Atkins' win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Dudley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Atkins has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .483. However, it's not like Dudley struggles in that department as they've averaged .538. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Atkins' way against Dudley in their previous meeting back in March, as Atkins made off with a 19-0 victory. Does Atkins have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dudley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
