Telluride is 9-1 against Crested Butte since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Miners will be playing at home against the Titans at 5:30 p.m. Crested Butte took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Telluride, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Telluride got the win against Olathe by a conclusive 3-0.
The win didn't come easy: Olathe scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-20.

Telluride's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ford Fenton led the charge by getting 16 digs and three assists. Fenton has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lillyann Mahoney, who had nine assists and four digs.
Telluride was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Olathe only served four.
Meanwhile, Crested Butte unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Buena Vista by a score of 3-2.
Crested Butte took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-17, 23-25, 17-25, 25-17, 15-10.
Crested Butte's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Telluride, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Everything went Telluride's way against Crested Butte when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Telluride made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Miners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
