Basketball Recap: Olentangy Berlin Falls Despite Big Games from Addi Trowbridge and Kelsey Grubbs

After flying high against Olentangy Orange last Tuesday, Olentangy Berlin came back down to earth. The Olentangy Berlin Bears fell 59-48 to the Hilliard Darby Panthers on Friday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 46-42.

Olentangy Berlin's loss came despite strong showings from Kelsey Grubbs and Addi Trowbridge. Grubbs went 8 of 11 en route to 18 points and six boards, while Trowbridge went 6 for 12 on her way to 16 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Grubbs a new career-high in points. Ava Fate was another key player, putting up four points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Olentangy Berlin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Hilliard Darby, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

Olentangy Berlin will face off against Bishop Hartley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hilliard Darby, they will square off against Patriot Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
