Volleyball Recap: Tyler's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Tyler unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Wirt County Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Tyler ultimately came up short, they really made Wirt County work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 26-24.

Katie Grimm paced Tyler's offense, picking up seven kills. Grimm got some help from Raylynn Heintzman and her 15 assists. Finally, Macie Highley kept Tyler's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Tyler's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Wirt County, they pushed their record up to 4-1-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Tyler wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Parkersburg Catholic on the 6th. As for Wirt County, they will challenge Calhoun at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
