Basketball Recap: Meadville Skates Past Northwestern with Ease

Meadville's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They really took it to the Northwestern Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-23 victory. Meadville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

Kinlee Fletcher was her usual excellent self, putting up ten points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Alexis Shiflett, who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points.

Meadville's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Northwestern, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meadville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tina-Avalon at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Northwestern also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Norborne at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
