Woods Cross took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Viewmont on Friday. Woods Cross' defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Woods Cross lost, one person who can't be blamed is Katie King. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. King hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Ili Crockett, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
It was another big night for Mary Carr, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds for Viewmont. Mara Mickelson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Woods Cross now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Viewmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woods Cross will take on Roy at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
