This season hasn't been kind to the Tallwood Lions, who are still winless after their 13th match. They were beaten by Bayside 61-10 on Friday. Tallwood has struggled against Bayside recently, as their matchup on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Tallwood saw an underclassman step up: Laniyah Grady scored six points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bayside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micala Poe, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Poe is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Jessie Ware was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six steals.
Tallwood's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-13. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.3 points per game. As for Bayside, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tallwood will take on Landstown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bayside, they will be playing at home against Cox at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cox comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
