South El Monte will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Mountain View at 3:15 p.m. on January 22nd. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
South El Monte faced off against Marshall for the first time this season, and South El Monte walked away the winners. They didn't even let Marshall onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Friday. The result kept South El Monte happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 9th.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Fabricio Ocampo and
Juan Santillan, who scored.
Meanwhile, Mountain View narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Arroyo 1-0. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mountain View.
South El Monte's win bumped their record up to 6-11-2. As for Mountain View, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
South El Monte came up short against Mountain View in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 2-0. Can South El Monte avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
