The Ben Lomond Scots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. The contest between Ben Lomond and Morgan wasn't particularly close, with Ben Lomond falling 55-40. Ben Lomond found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 16 to 8 on offense.
Loss or not, Ben Lomond got some senior leadership from Jazzy Tinajero and Dory Jenson. Tinajero scored 16 points along with six steals, while Jenson. scored nine points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Tinajero has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Claudia Avina was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morgan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eva Birkeland, who scored 14 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Titus, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Ben Lomond's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Morgan, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-11.
Ben Lomond will be playing at home against Union at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Union is ranked 104th, while Ben Lomond is ranked 111th). As for Morgan, they will head out on the road to take on Grantsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
