Basketball Recap: Leah Dewitt's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Marietta over North Paulding

Marietta entered their matchup against North Paulding on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Marietta Blue Devils took a hard 55-39 fall against the North Paulding Wolfpack. The game marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leah DeWitt, who posted 19 points and eight rebounds. DeWitt is crushing it when it comes to points: she's scored at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mckenzie Everett, who earned 11 points.

Even though they lost, Marietta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches.

Marietta's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5. As for North Paulding, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
