After a string of three wins, the Magee Trojans's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 78-56 defeat at the hands of Jefferson Davis County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (55), Magee still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Magee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nicole Sandifer. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 40 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 71.4% of Magee's points, marking the 26th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamya Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Magee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Magee's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Jefferson Davis County, their win bumped their record up to 22-4.
Magee will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. Jefferson Davis County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
