The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Niles nor Decatur made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Vikings' pitchers stepped up to hand the Raiders a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Vikings have won 18 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the third in a row for Niles, bringing their record up to 26-6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Decatur, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-8.

Looking ahead, Niles will face off against Dowagiac at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vikings are facing the Chieftains at the right time seeing as the Chieftains are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Decatur, they will welcome Hackett Catholic Prep at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
