Basketball Recap: North Callaway Takes a Loss

North Callaway lost against South Callaway back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The North Callaway Thunderbirds fell 61-51 to the South Callaway Bulldogs. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, North Callaway still got an impressive performance from Jamarion Glover, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Glover has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times he's played. Austin Brown was another key player, putting up six points.

Even though they lost, North Callaway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

North Callaway's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for South Callaway, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-7.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the North Callaway Thunderbirds face off against the Fayette Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Callaway, they will head out on the road to face off against Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. South Callaway is facing Fulton at the right time seeing as Fulton is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
