The Meadow Bridge Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Richwood Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Meadow Bridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Meadow Bridge came up short against East Hardy and fell 38-30.
Despite the loss, Meadow Bridge had strong showings from Lilly Hayes, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, and Riley Roberts, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Roberts scored a full 33.3% of Meadow Bridge's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sierra Simmons, who scored 3 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Richwood was beaten by Greenbrier West 73-26 on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Richwood in their matchups with Greenbrier West: they've now lost five in a row.
Meadow Bridge's win lifted them to 2-2 while East Hardy's loss dropped them down to 1-4.
Meadow Bridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Richwood in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 47-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Meadow Bridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
