The Timberline Spartans suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Lakeside, falling 96-38. While losing is never fun, Timberline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Lakeside is ranked 31st).
Blaze Callahan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lakeside, scoring 27 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Callahan has scored all season. Brutis Sijohn was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten assists.
Timberline has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Lakeside, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.
Timberline will square off against Deary at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakeside, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Genesis Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m.
