The Mt. Salus Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 77-54 defeat at the hands of Woodlawn Prep. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mt. Salus Christian in their matchups with Woodlawn Prep: they've now lost seven in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodlawn Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Carney, who scored 21 points. Carney also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Braylon Reed, who scored 18 points.
Mt. Salus Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Woodlawn Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Salus Christian will challenge Woodlawn Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodlawn Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for they, they will head out on the road to face off against Ben's Ford Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Ben's Ford Christian is ranked 133rd in Louisiana, while Woodlawn Prep is ranked 124th in Mississippi).
