For Chaparral, this counts as revenge for the 69-62 loss Rocky Mountain walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Leading Chaparral to victory were Christian Williams and Gavin Carter. Williams scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists, while Carter scored 23 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least 25% of Chaparral's points. Another player making a difference was Luke Howery, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
Rocky Mountain's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Mbadinga-nzamba, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Ryan Van alsburg was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 8 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Rocky Mountain were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chaparral only racked up 24.
Chaparral is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Rocky Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
