The Pocahontas County Warriors won against the Sherman Tide last Thursday with 60 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Pocahontas County blew past Sherman 60-22 on the road. With that win, Pocahontas County brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pocahontas County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Allyson Taylor, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and six steals. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Vandevender, who scored 12 points along with five steals and two blocks.
Pocahontas County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Sherman, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Pocahontas County will head out on the road to challenge East Hardy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Pocahontas County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday. As for Sherman, they will be playing at home against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Independence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday.
