Omaha Northwest is 1-9 against Burke since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Huskies will host the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Omaha Northwest turned things around against Benson on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Bunnies.

Justyse Masters made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Masters was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Omaha Northwest is 2-1 when Masters posts two or more runs, but 0-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Daniel Wescott and DeVon Derry did most of the damage at the plate: Wescott scored three runs while going 2-for-4, while Derry went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Braden Sanders was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Omaha Northwest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Burke ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Lincoln Northwest 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 24, 2024.
Alec Carlson was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Stanley, who scored a run and stole a base.
The victory made it two in a row for Burke and bumps their season record up to 3-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Omaha Northwest, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
Omaha Northwest suffered a grim 21-2 defeat to Burke in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
