Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Rustburg Red Devils, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by the Bulldogs on the road and fell 45-13. Rustburg has struggled against Liberty Christian recently, as their match on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Rustburg lost, one person who can't be blamed is Marquavion Rosser. Despite the final result, he rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Liberty Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gideon Davidson, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns. Davidson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Dalton Nesselrotte did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 104 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Rustburg's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Liberty Christian, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Rustburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Liberty Christian will look to defend their home field on Friday against Turner Ashby at 7:00 p.m. Turner Ashby is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
