Master's Academy hasn't had much luck against Lyman recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. Master's Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Master's Academy turned things around against Altamonte Christian on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Altamonte Christian a 16-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what Master's Academy needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Reagan Peri made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Master's Academy let Isa Moya and Lauren McMeel run wild. Moya scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while McMeel scored three runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Daniel, who scored two runs.
Master's Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Lyman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Winter Springs, falling 14-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Greyhounds couldn't push the score so high this time.
Lyman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jade Perez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Perez also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
The win got Master's Academy back to even at 9-9. As for Lyman, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Lyman's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Master's Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game.
