After two games on the road, Harbor Creek is heading back home. They will take on the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Harbor Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Seneca, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win.
Harbor Creek can attribute much of their success to Braylen Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, and JT Delsandro, who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Delsandro has scored at least 25% of Harbor Creek's points. Another player making a difference was Tucker Chwatek, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Mercyhurst Prep ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They snuck past Howland with a 48-43 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mercyhurst Prep.
Mercyhurst Prep can attribute much of their success to Jeremy Ganska, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Ganska has scored at least 25% of Mercyhurst Prep's points. Craig Buckner was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Harbor Creek's win pushed their record up to 2-0, while Seneca's loss dropped theirs down to 0-2.
Harbor Creek skirted past Mercyhurst Prep 42-39 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Mercyhurst Prep's Justin Pasko, who scored 22 points. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Harbor Creek to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
