Meanwhile, Macon-East Montgomery Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 43-37 to Springwood. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Valiant Cross Academy will need focus on slowing down Jackson Todd, one of several Macon-East Montgomery Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brandon Fitch, who had six points.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Valiant Cross Academy, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
