The Holly Wildcats had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Crowley County with a sharp 42-18 victory on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Holly has posted against Crowley County since January 31, 2020.
Holly was led to victory by Josie Kissell and Averee Davis. Kissell scored nine points along with nine rebounds and six steals, while Davis scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Davis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anayi Cerros, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Despite the defeat, Crowley County saw an underclassman step up: Alexis Rusher scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 55.6% of Crowley County's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Holly's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Crowley County, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-5.
Holly will take on Primero at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Primero focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday. As for Crowley County, they will be playing at home against Holly at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Holly has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
