Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rio Rico). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Amphitheater Panthers a 27-0 shutout on Wednesday. With that victory, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 10.2 runs per game.
Pedro Tolano was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tolano was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season.

Back at the plate, Jesus Rodriguez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. Rio Rico always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Amphitheater only posted an OBP of .143.
Rio Rico's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Amphitheater, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
