Great Bridge is a perfect 10-0 against Indian River since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Braves at 5:45 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Great Bridge has three straight victories, Indian River has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Ten must be Great Bridge's lucky number: they beat Kempsville with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Wildcats beat the Chiefs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-7. Great Bridge's win was all the more impressive since the Chiefs were averaging only 3.13 runs allowed on the season.

Bailey Bliven spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 13 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cassie Kleier, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of LB Scott, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Great Bridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Indian River came up short against Nansemond River on Thursday, falling 15-1.

Indian River's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Great Bridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. It's a different story for Indian River, though, as they've only averaged .160. Will they be able to contain Great Bridge's hitters?
Great Bridge took their victory against Indian River in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
